Rebecca Build Guide 2026: Free 5★ from the Cyberpunk Collab

🎁 Rebecca is FREE — claim her through the Instant Flashlight event during version 3.4. No banner pull required. Every active player will have her. This guide is for everyone, not just whales.
📌 Build values below are confirmed from the live 3.4 release. A few exact skill multipliers are still community-estimated and marked as approximate where they appear.

This is the launch-week Rebecca build guide for Wuthering Waves 3.4. Rebecca is the free 5★ Electro Pistol Resonator from the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners collaboration — the first time the game has given a fully free 5-star character on this scale. She is built around high-speed dual-pistol combat with stance switching: Hunter Mode for agile mobility and Iron Guts Mode for close-range shotgun burst, capped by a Liberation that mounts a heavy machine gun turret for sustained AoE.

Because Rebecca is free, this guide focuses on maximizing what you can do without spending a single Astrite: best F2P weapons, echo sets you can farm in 3.4, and team comps that work with characters you almost certainly already own. We also cover the unexpectedly powerful synergy when paired with Lucy — her signature weapon Skull Thrasher provides a team-wide +30% ATK buff, which makes Rebecca a credible buffer for any DPS, not just the cyberpunk pair.

How to claim Rebecca (Instant Flashlight event)

Rebecca is the grand reward of the Instant Flashlight 3.4 limited-time event. Complete the event quest chain and rack up the event currency through the side activities — by the end of the patch, you will receive Rebecca permanently. The event is generous: average completion takes 8-12 days of casual play.

Kit overview

📌 Kit mechanics below are confirmed from the live 3.4 build. A few exact values are still community-estimated and marked as approximate where they appear.

Core mechanic — Hunter ↔ Iron Guts stance switching

Rebecca's Forte revolves around switching between two combat stances. Hunter Mode is her default — agile dual-pistol gunplay with backflips, slides, and tactical dodges. It's mobile, fast, and ideal for kiting. Iron Guts Mode swaps to a close-range shotgun for heavy single-target burst windows — punchier, slower, and rewarding aggressive positioning.

Her Liberation, Party 'til Dawn!, mounts a heavy machine gun and locks her into a stationary turret stance, auto-tracking enemies for sustained AoE Electro damage. The Liberation is her single largest DPS payoff and the reason she works as a credible mini-carry even at S0.

Abilities at a glance

  • Basic Attack (Hunter) — Dual-pistol chain with mobility woven in. Default damage source for opening rotations.
  • Basic Attack (Iron Guts) — Close-range shotgun burst. Higher damage per shot but slower and immobile.
  • Resonance Skill — Stance-switch trigger + Electro damage / Hack-Shifting application.
  • Resonance Liberation — Party 'til Dawn! — Heavy machine gun turret stance. Sustained AoE Electro damage, ideal against grouped enemies.
  • Intro Skill / Outro Skill — swap-in / swap-out effects; her Outro buffs the incoming character. See the in-game skill page for exact values.

Stat priorities

PriorityStatTarget
1Crit Rate~70% if pure sub-DPS
2Crit DMG~150% (1:2 CR:CD)
3Electro DMG BonusBoth 3-cost echo main stats
4ATK%1-cost echoes + substats
5Energy Regen~125% for Liberation uptime

Free-character tip: Because Rebecca is free, do not feel pressured to perfect her echoes immediately. B-grade echoes are completely acceptable on a launch-week build — focus your Tuners on Lucy first.

Echo build

Echo set — 1+2+2 hybrid (1pc Shadow of Shattered Dreams + 2× 2pc Electro DMG)

Post-launch the optimal Rebecca build is a 1+2+2 hybrid, not a clean five-piece. Run 1 piece of Shadow of Shattered Dreams — the new Hack-Shifting set, taken as the Adam Smasher 4-cost boss echo — then pair two 2-piece Electro DMG Bonus sets such as Void Thunder (+10% Electro DMG each). Since Rebecca is a buffer, B-grade echoes are fine — save your best Tuners for Lucy.

Weapons (F2P-friendly focus)

TierWeaponRarityNotes
SSkull Thrasher5★ Signature72% Crit DMG sub-stat at L90. Passive: +12% ATK, and applying Hack-Shifting grants Rebecca additional Basic Attack DMG AND buffs the entire team's ATK by +30%. The team-wide ATK buff makes this weapon unusually valuable — it's effectively a 30% team-DPS multiplier whenever Rebecca triggers Hack-Shifting. Worth considering even if you got Rebecca free, especially if you also pulled Lucy.
AStatic Mist5★ StandardStandard-pool Pistol. If you have it spare, it works as a clean stat-stick.
BHollow Mirage4★ StandardRecommended F2P pick. Energy Regen + ATK% at S5. Supports Rebecca's rotation cleanly.

Pulling recommendation: The +30% team ATK buff from Skull Thrasher changes the typical "skip the weapon banner for a free character" advice. If you also pulled Lucy, Skull Thrasher effectively buffs Lucy's damage by ~30% during Rebecca's Hack-Shifting windows. For F2P-only accounts that skipped Lucy's banner, Hollow Mirage S5 still covers Rebecca's personal needs at 90% of Skull Thrasher's solo value (but you lose the team buff).

Best team compositions

Team 1 — Default Cyberpunk pair (F2P-friendly)

Sub-DPS / ApplierRebeccaOff-field Hack-Shifting + Outro buffThe free pair — Rebecca enables Lucy's burst window
SupportVerinaHeal + ATK buffStandard-pool 5★ everyone has; sustains and amplifies

Team 2 — No Lucy alternative

If you don't pull Lucy, Rebecca still works as a Hack-Shifting sub-DPS for other Spectro main DPS characters (Jinhsi, Shorekeeper variants). The team loses some synergy but Rebecca's free status means you have nothing to lose.

Team 3 — Lucilla extension (post-Phase 2)

Once Lucilla releases on 2026-06-13, the trio of Lucy + Rebecca + Lucilla becomes the premium cyberpunk team.

Rotation guide

  1. Support opener — Verina Intro for ATK buff.
  2. Swap to Rebecca — Intro Skill, Resonance Skill + Liberation to apply Hack-Shifting stacks to enemies.
  3. Outro to Lucy — Rebecca's Outro buffs Lucy's burst window.
  4. Lucy carries — full burst rotation inside the buff window.
  5. Loop back to Rebecca for next Hack-Shifting application.

2ndResonance LiberationBurst + additional Hack-Shifting
3rdForte CircuitImproves Hack-Shifting application or Outro buff
4thIntro SkillSwap-burst utility
LastNormal AttackFiller — level last for sub-DPS role

F2P talent investment: Level Skill and Liberation to 6-7, leave the rest at 4-5. As a free character, Rebecca rarely justifies maxing all talents.

Resonance Chain (Sequence Nodes)

Rebecca is fully functional at S0 from the free claim. Note: as a free character, Rebecca's Resonance Chain progression requires standard duplicate pulls if a future banner reruns her — most players will stay at S0 indefinitely, which is completely acceptable.

Ascension & materials

Rebecca's ascension uses standard 5-star materials. As a free character, ascending her is the same Waveplate investment as any pulled 5★ — typically 3-4 weeks of focused farming for Level 90 + Forte 8.
